Acokanthera oblongifolia, commonly known as Bushman’s Poison or Wintersweet, is a dense, evergreen shrub or small tree native to southern Africa. It features glossy, dark green oblong leaves and clusters of small, fragrant, star-shaped white to pinkish flowers that appear primarily in spring and summer. Despite its beauty, all parts of the plant are toxic due to the presence of cardiac glycosides. Traditionally used in African cultures (with caution), it now serves mostly as an ornamental hedge or screening plant. Supplied in a 1-inch net pot — plant directly with the net pot into the ground or a larger planter.

HOW TO PLANT A SAPLING

4.Backfill with soil and firm it gently around the base.
5.Water well and apply mulch to conserve moisture and control weeds.
